HereForTheBands is going on hiatus
My camera broke, dammit
My lovely new camera which I purchased all of a month ago is no longer working.
In case you're wondering what happened, here's the full story. I picked up a Canon EOS 7D in December through the Canon Loyalty Program (CLP). You buy a refurbished camera for 20% off retail and send them in an old/broken Canon camera to get another 20% off. Not a bad deal! The 7D replaced the EOS Rebel T1i I was using for most of last year.
In general I am quite happy with the 7D. Unfortunately mine has developed a weird problem. After taking about 30 photos, every other photo starts to come out all white, or sometimes all pink. One time I got the same shot repeating over and over. So basically I lose a bunch of my photos every shoot. I lost almost half of the photos I took at the O'Death and King Tuff shows. It's a total pain. Fortunately the 7D is still under warranty and I really don't think this was my fault, so I should not end up paying for the repairs.
As for my old T1i (still a perfectly good camera)... well, I lent it to a friend and don't want to ask for it back. I could use the break anyway. The weather outside is frightful and I just don't feel like going out and (sorta) working in this weather. See, I grew up in Los Angeles. They didn't teach us how to deal with snow and ice and all that. Where I grew up if there's ice on the ground it means you dropped your piña colada.
It should just take a couple of weeks to get my 7D fixed. Until then, I'm gonna relax.
