The Vacant Lots at The Knitting Factory
It is almost accurate to call these photos of the lightshow rather than photos of the band. That was one intense lightshow! As for the music I would say that the songs were catchy or even hypnotic and all sounded kind of similar. Feel free to judge for yourself, the entire concert is online.

The Vandelles at The Knitting Factory
The last time I saw this band they were terribly sloppy, so I can honestly say that I was pleased by how much better they sounded this time even if they weren't exactly at their peak. I guess they took a little break after hitting the SXSW touring circuit last month. Love the new songs, though.

The Sweet Divines (and guests) at Rockwood Music Hall (Stage 2)
The stage at the Rockwood Music Hall was not made for this many people so the audience missed out on some of The Sweet Divines' usual choreography. The music on the other hand was catchy and playful, at times a bit sappy, but often charming. Guest vocalist Nicole Atkins was electrifying, and while guest singer (and possibly dancer?) Tami Lynn started a bit slow, her last few songs were worth the wait.

Texas Terri Bomb at Trash Bar
Trash Bar has never so completely lived up to its name as on this particular evening. From the vomit-covered stage to the vomit-covered microphone (thank you Born Loose!) and of course the sound problems, it was a rough night. Texas Terri handled these problems with aplomb, though one would hope that she washed her hands after handling the microphone, and gave a raucous performance.

NT (Nevertune) at Glasslands Gallery
I thought "NT" stood for "No Tuning", so I was certainly expecting something punk from these guys. They're definitely punk, but a strange mix of crust and art punk with lots of energy, some metal-esque headbanging, and metal-esque hair for that matter. Loved 'em.
