El Dingo at Kung Fu Necktie
I knew I was going to get around to El Dingo eventually (took my time though didn't I?) They're a three-piece band from NJ which mostly plays DIY shows, though they've been on a few bills at KFN recently, and they're just fun. They've got that mid 90's hard-rock-but-weird sort of sound. Some songs are a little funky, definitely some Primus influence on those, others are closer to psych rock. I'm pretty sure the ROCK part is what matters most though. They're loud, they're fun, and I wish they were more popular.
Looking at that first photo do you notice anything different about Kung Fu Necktie? They added some lightning on the ceiliing above the stage. That gives the stage a little more light and lets them do some really basic animations. Looks good doesn't it?

Supersuckers at Kung Fu Necktie
Just a few photos of Supersuckers because about a third of the way through I decided to just enjoy the damn show. Kung Fu Necktie is known for great booking (natch) and good sound but not so much for beautiful stage lighting.
What can I say about Supersuckers. This is a band I remember hearing about back in college in the 90s, not sure if I ever saw them (probably not). The fact that they are still at and still rocking hard which is impressive in general, but gets insane when you hear that lead singer "Eddie Spaghetti" Daly was diagnosed with throat cancer about a decade ago. Yeah, I'm pretty sure he recovered just fine 'cause he sounds great.
Supersuckers are one of those bands which is rock-n-roll first but also to cross over into alt-country. You know those bands which are rock bands first but clearly country-influenced like Credence Clearwater Revival or Buffalo Springfield? Well, think of that but formed post-Cramps. Supersuckers are the ass-kicking drunken uncle of CCR.

Potty Mouth at Kung Fu Necktie
Potty Mouth are probably my favorite pop-punk band, in part because they're more punk than pop. Anyone can do pop nowadays. Being edgy and still catchy at the same time is so much harder and Potty Mouth do it so well. I'm glad they finally released that second album and I hope the third is just is good and comes out maybe like tomorrow or something.

Tact at Kung Fu Necktie
Tact are Philly punk band who are dang hard to Google. Too bad, because their live performances are energtic and their album is well worth checking out. More people should know about them.

Summer Cannibals at Kung Fu Necktie
Summer Cannibals have some blunt lyrics and do not hide them behind a wall of noise. The music is still raucous of course. If you like bands which are both deep and ass-kicking then maybe check them out, eh?

Dark Web at Kung Fu Necktie
Dark Web mix sci-fi themes with high-energy (and high-anxiety) garage rock. Call it paranoid post-punk from Philly. Did you notice that their lead singer was wearing an X-Files hat? Super, super appropriate.

Warbly Jets at Kung Fu Necktie
My 90's sense is tingling. If I didn't know better I would have sworn Warbly Jets were, well, British for one thing. From song to song they flow from jangly rock-n-rollers to floaty, vaguely psychedelic hymns to their more recent cool electro-meditations on modern society. Through it all their sound is always a little bit suave, a little bit classy. Intensity is implied through style and attitude, not just volume. Seems British to me. Or more accurately it reminds me of alternative radio from the era of the Second British Invasion, my college days, back in the 90s. Like the rock bands tho, not the "Britpop" bands, the real rock-n-rollers.
