Guitar Wolf at The Knitting Factory
I could probably let the pictures speak for themselves. Guitar Wolf is a rock band. They're Japanese. They're nuts. Their lead singer (who is personally called "Guitar Wolf") is incredibly energetic and very, very sweaty. Their songs are baffling and are about romance and aliens. The first half-dozen or so songs were absolutely incredible. After that the energy level dropped and things got a little more average, but they were still a lot of fun.
Titus Andronicus at Glasslands Gallery
Glasslands Gallery has colorful lighting, garish wall decorations, pretty good sound and no airflow. They have two ceiling fans at the front of the stage, apparently to cool off the lead singer and the most aggressive audience members. Drummers can suck it. Everyone else can suck down the free water (and assorted non-free adult beverages) and enjoy the music.
