Human Eye at The Knitting Factory
I could have sworn that Human Eye had a trombonist the last time I saw them, or some sort of brass instrument (he got in trouble at Magnetic Field for walking on the railing). You never know what to expect from these guys, as long as it can be done for cheap. I got glitter thrown on me, and beer (of course), and lead singer Timmy ate a flaming piece of paper.
Reagan Youth at Party Expo
This might require a bit of explaining. The new Reagan Youth is three former members of the 80s punk band plus a new lead singer. That explains how they can exist 20 years after lead singer Dave Insurgent died, and also why they're not exactly youths. I gotta tell ya' though, the mosh pit crowd had no reason to complain.
The Black Lips at The Shank
Those four guys squashed into the back of the small stage at The Shank are a band called "The Black Lips". They used to do more shows like this. I'm guessing that at this point they forgot how much of a pain in the ass shows like this are. Yes there are dozens of people on the stage. Yes there is a guy holding up the mics. Welcome back to New York!
