Crocodiles at Mercury Lounge
Crocodiles are one of those bands who only rock sometimes. One of the problems with these lo-fi, Jesus and Mary Chain-inspired bands is that they want to get contemplative every now and then. Did they actually toss an instrumental into their set? Luckily, during the 75% of the time when they are rocking out they're a blast.
Madam Robot and the Lust Brigade at The Knitting Factory
You have never heard anything like these folks and their strange but catch psych-pop. Unless of course you've heard them play before, which to be honest I had, but never at a venue like this. The crowd kept losing their mustaches due to all that head-bobbing. That combined with the lousy glue on the back of their fake mustaches.
Les Sans Culottes at Last Exit
Despite failing to live up to their name, Les Sans Culottes received quite a bit of attention at this year's Atlantic Antic. Their peppy faux-French pop is quite charming at times. If nothing else you can listen for the few English words you know (Coca Cola! Oncle Sam!) while soaking up all their energy.
